2025 *Sestricka* Pinot Gris

Story

Czech for Sisters, this wine was created with my best friend who came to do vintage with me in 2025. She was born in the Czech Republic and I have Czech heritage in me, so when we met in high school in the US when she moved to America she started to call me Sestricka. 23 years later we are still sisters and I couldn’t do life without her, this wine represents a lifelong bond and memories made together in Prague when we were 21.

Tasting Notes

A textured and opulent style of Gris in the glass. Rose water, white jelly bean and red apple skin phenolics, build the layers of this white wine in red wine framework. Extended time on vine has helped make the wine powerful and rich, Alsatian in style but still born of the limestone soils of Waurn Ponds from a 40 year old vineyard. Was so inspired by this fruit I took cuttings from the site and will graft 10 rows of Gris over in the home block this year.
